NOAH THE MOVIE A Review &
Comparison To Other Religious Films
This latest film about our father, Noah, that was produced, written, and directed by men who do not believe in “Jesus
Christ, and him crucified” (I Cor.2:2) is a marvelous study of our fallen human nature and its enmity against GOD, as the
Apostle Paul said: “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither
indeed can be.” Rom.8:7. And yet, throughout the film we see a genuine desire and determination in the role of Russell
Crowe playing the part of Noah as a truly godly man, fulfilling the very first promise of GOD when Adam fell into sin. In
Genesis 3:15 we read: “And I will put enmity between thee [Satan] and the woman [Eve], and between thy seed and her
seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” In
the hearts of all, GOD has placed the desire for good and a disdain for evil. While few exercise heavenly virtue, and most
readily abandon it, it was this Divine Intervention at the beginning of sin that gave us a fighting chance at salvation. When
sin entered the hearts of Adam and Eve through the scheming entrapment of Satan they lost all ability to live righteous lives,
even to love GOD or to love one another. But through the creative power of Jesus Christ, GOD created a level playing field
in the controversy between man and sin, and this preserved GOD'S gift of freewill and our ability to choose eternal life.
In this, no man has any right to take glory to himself for any display of love for GOD, or love for his fellow man. The film focused entirely on two classes of
men, represented by Noah and Tubalcain who the Bible says was “an instructor of every artificer of brass and iron”
(Gen.4:22). The film obeyed Scripture on several points: 1. When Creation
Week was reviewed it honored “the evening and the morning” 24 hour period for each day of Creaton. 2. Adam and Eve were shown with a glorious light covering them as a garment.
3. Noah and his family were vegetarians as GOD ordained all men to be in the beginning (Gen.1:29),
while Tubalcain and his hoards of men were ruthless and violent meat eaters. 4.
Noah taught his children good stewardship over the life on Earth declaring to his sons, “walk along side the Creator
in righeousness,” while Tubalcain declared only that GOD “cursed us to sweat to survive.” 5. After the flood when Noah was drunk and naked, Ham looked upon the nakedness of his father while
Shem and Japheth meekly covered him. 6. The film ended with a beautiful rainbow. The leading downside of this movie is it’s
utter omission of GOD’S involvement with angels and His children. 1.
It went out of its way to deny GOD’S Glorious love for His children. This is the atheistic liberty that was taken in
the film, thus fulfilling Paul’s words stated above. 2. The film began with
the declaration: “In the beginning there was nothing.” This overruled the foundational doctrine of our existence:
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Gen.1:1. 3.
The landscapes of the film denied the glory given to the life that in the beginning was abundant beyond measure, where on
the Earth's surface was strewn gold and gem crystals, all mingled with the flourishing plant and animal life on the pristine
Earth before the flood (Gen.2:10-12). 4. It presented GOD as aloof and with little
guidance of Noah except through abstract visions and dreams, even to the point where Noah was uncertain of GOD’S will
concerning the future of man's continued life on Earth as well as the design and the construction of the ark, when the
LORD personally came to Noah and spoke plainly to him of his intentions to destroy the world by water and the specifications
of the ark (Gen.6:13-22), just as the LORD came to Abraham prior to destroying Sodom and Gomorrah warning him of that destruction
(Gen.18:17-21). 5. Also omitted was the distinction between clean and unclean
animals as ordained by GOD concerning man's diet after the flood when eating meat became essential for man's survival.
The movie only mentioned the unclean animals by twos and never mentioned the clean animals by groups of seven (Gen.7:2). 6. The Bible's description of the family of eight was reduced to six, to create the Unbiblical
drama of Ham and Japheth not having wives as they all entered the ark. 7. The movie
script had Noah close the door to the ark when Scripture says that "the LORD" Himself closed and sealed the ark
(Gen.7:16), thus sparing Noah any responsibility for shutting out those ordained to perish. 8.
Also seen on occasion throughout the film was the typical spiritualistic witchcraft so often seen in fantasy films, even to
include GOD’S curse on holy angels who disobeyed GOD by coming to the aid of Adam and Eve when they sinned. 9. The film omitted the finest compliment given to our father, Noah: “But Noah found
grace in the eyes of the LORD.” Gen.6:8. 10. Also omitted was Enoch’s
translation to Glory as a testimony to the Antediluvians of GOD’S mercy that is promised to all who walk in His Sacred
Laws preserving the dignity of life. 11. The 120 years of Noah preaching GOD'S
warning of the coming deluge, calling for repentance from sin had no place in the film. Also omitted was the obvious ridicule
of Noah for: a. It had never rained on the Earth, as it is written: "But there
went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground" (Gen.2:6). Therefore, it was declared scientifically
impossible. b. Building a 500 foot ship on land far from the sea. Noah was essentially
a laughing stock to men in those days. (As men refused to believe the flood would ever come, so men today refuse to believe
the flood every came.) 12. And most importantly, omitted from the film was the
sacrificial system inaugurated at the fall of Adam and Eve who were given the clear knowledge of its continuation to remind
the children of Adam the coming of “the Christ of God” to bear man's punishment of sin to the grave, and through
His sinless life conquer death's dominion that they may be resurrected and restored to the holiness they once had before
sin took hold in the Earth. In summation:
GOD’S great care, longsuffering, and provision for salvation through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ was given no glory.
So, as a result, this epic film, Noah has received the universal condemnation by Christians. But what is not considered by
religious scoffers is how there is readily seen a gross hypocrisy by Christians when we compare this film to other religious
films. Let's review them and see if there is any disobedience to Scripture in them. 1.
The Left Behind films have absolutely no accuracy in their claim of obedience to Bible prophecy. This is proven by the Jesuit
espionage in assaulting Bible prophecy beginning in the year 1575 with the Jesuit, Francisco Ribera who devised the future
Antichrist and seven year tribulation doctrines, thus serving Satan’s purpose to deceive the world into believing that
the sins of Rome receive the approbation of GOD. 2. Cecil B. DeMille’s
film, The Ten Commandments was utterly void of the Gospel message of GOD’S mercy to Pharaoh and all of Egypt, thus exposing
the corrupt theology being taught in the churches. The Ten Commandments was flagrant in its sinful disregard of GOD’S
Law, leaving out entire portions as it was being read by a stern, reverberant voice of “God” to Charlton Heston
playing the role of “Moses.” The film gave an incomplete, sinful rendering, arrogantly deleting 86 of the 94 words
from the 4th Commandment, in violation of GOD'S severest warning to never add or take away from His Word (Deut.4:2; Rev.22:18,19).
Technically, the film should have been called, "The Selfish Pick 'n Choose Version of The Ten Commandments."
Even the irrefutable evidence of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was completely omitted from this great story of GOD’S deliverance
of the Hebrews from Egyptian slavery. GOD’S first request of Pharaoh was to allow the Hebrew family of Abraham to take
a mere three-day weekend, after which time they would return to serve Pharaoh (Ex.3:16-20). GOD never intended the permanent
departure of the Hebrews from Egypt, which would cause economic and social ruin, but rather designed to win all of Egypt to
His Gospel through the humble servitude of His nation Israel. But “Pharaoh hardened his heart.” Ex.8:32. This
one man determined the fate of a whole nation. GOD, knowing the hardness of Pharaoh’s heart, even warned Pharaoh that
if he would not allow the Hebrews to take their “three days journey into the wilderness” (Ex.3:18; 5:3; 8:27)
that He would cause the death of all the firstborn of Egypt, [which occurred in the tenth and final plague of Egypt, even
before the first plague began (Ex.4:22,23)]! Nine miraculous plagues took place, with each reminding Pharaoh of GOD’S
first warning of the deaths of all the firstborn. But Pharaoh lived his life without the discipline of humility; therefore
his pride would not allow him to see GOD’S intended blessing to the people of Egypt: the very people he claimed with
pride to be responsible for. And once Pharaoh eternally refused to free the Hebrew slaves the nation of Egypt passed the point
of no return. It was then the LORD led the children of Israel to permanently leave Egypt and guide them to the Promised Land.
And Pharaoh’s pursuit of them led him to perish along with all who followed him in his determination (Ps.136:15). And
yet the end of the film showed Pharaoh returning from the Red Sea and sitting on his throne. 3.
Mel Gibson’s highly emotional film, The Passion of Christ focused entirely on contrasting the character of Jesus vs.
the cruelty of the Jews and Romans. But the film omitted the real suffering of Christ in denying the real death that Jesus
faced. It insulted the most profound love demonstrated by Jesus as He suffered what the Bible calls "the second death"
punishment for the sins of every man, woman and child, and carried that punishment to the grave. He, as the "Everlasting
Father" of man (Isa.9:6) willingly took to Himself “the wrath of GOD” against sin that every unrepentant
man would have to face—to spare them that death: a death faced with the knowledge that there is to be no resurrection:
a death that is defined as the cessation of life and memory: a death that is eternal: never again to live, to love, to laugh—to
dream. This is the death that Jesus was willing to die alone that none of His children need face. 4. Then there’s Samuel Bronston’s production of King of Kings. Although narrated with
historical background it utterly neglected the great feats of Christ and the great controversy Jesus had to face with Satan
ruling the hearts of men, and even among His own disciples. The film even imposed the false Catholic doctrine that the virgin
Mary is co-mediator with Jesus. When the camera panned close to the actress’ face playing the role of Mary, she looked
up and said, “Intercession.” This blasphemy against Jesus Christ by the church of Rome denies Him as the sole
Intercessor between sinful man and a Holy GOD. “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man
Christ Jesus.” I Tim.2:5. Scripture nowhere claims the ascension of Mary or her having any involvement with the work
of salvation on the Earth. She rests in the grave, as all who have died, awaiting the call of Christ through "the power
of his resurrection" (Phil.3:10). In
conclusion, the Enemy of souls delights to create hypocrisy among men who claim Christ’s service. The history of the
church, from the age when Roman Catholicism rose to power, to our modern age, has been a series of miscalculations in its
relationship with GOD. The Word of GOD is clear, but men have mystified what is plain by declaring the literal to be symbolic,
and the symbolic to be literal, in belligerent denial to GOD'S warning: "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good
evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them
that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!" Isa.5:20,21.
So often seen is the declaration, 'My sins are acceptable. Yours are not!' This lays at the very heart of the
religious right in this country, thus fulfilling the Bible’s end-time prophecies pointing to corrupt religion as the
sole cause of Armageddon, and not the atheists, nor the Muslims, nor Russia, nor China. And the most powerful religion on
Earth is Christianity. And it is under this banner that the judgments of GOD will come against the church's apostate and
unrepentant condition. The criteria
of Jesus is so simple, little children can understand it and be drawn to the virtue of Christ’s unmistakable words:
"But if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.” Matt.19:17. It has always been the disobedience of demons
and men against GOD'S Holy Immutable Law that has caused every heartache, suffering and death on our planet. And our obedience
to Christ's Heavenly Standard can only come through the Presence of the Holy Spirit dwelling in the soul. And GOD will
not send Him to our hearts without an invitation (Lu.11:13). GOD forces the will of no man. So, any minister of the church
who disannuls a single commandment of GOD and teaches men so, Christ will condemn that minister, and all who follow his example
(Matt.5:19; 7:21-23; 23:13,15). This
is why each of us must align ourselves with the guidelines of Scripture, because more and more we see men deviating from the
plain “Thus saith the LORD” where men are led to abandon Scripture to follow a supernatural power that leads to
sin, “and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death" (Ja.1:15). As the film, Noah took liberties with the
Word of GOD by adding to and taking away from GOD'S instruction manual for our salvation, so the church and all the world's
religions selfishly pick and choose which commands of GOD are worthy to follow, and which are not. "For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness
and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye
doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he
is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth
what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful
hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth
not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the
Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”
Ja.1:20-27.
